Feeding Therapy

The Guidance You Need

Selective eating

Jami specializes in helping picky and selective eaters feel comfortable and confident when eating.

Headwaters Nutrition Counseling is here to give guidance, support, and even hold your hand if you want in order to help with your child nutrition challenges.

Our goal with feeding therapy for picky, selective, or avoidant eaters is to help you find the underlying cause and work with your child and support their eating habits. Focusing on changing the environment and understanding the why behind the struggle. Jami uses an anti-diet and anti-desensitization approach to help your child feel confident rather than scared and anxious to fuel their body.

Counseling to parents is also available to help them with this not easy journey that no one prepares you for in parenthood.  We will work together and make a plan that meets the needs of your family's lifestyle.

Feeding therapy support

Children in feeding therapy generally require unique nutrition support. Note that we are not pediatric feeding therapy providers. When children are receiving feeding therapy from a qualified OT or SLP, we support the family by advising parents on dietary patterns and positive feeding dynamics as well as through collaborating with your therapy team.

Food fixations

When children seem obsessed with food, it's easy to think restriction is the answer, but it isn't. We help families address their children's food fixation through positive feeding tactics that will help your child develop a healthy relationship with food.
